Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The VMI Analyst will be primarily responsible for the daily execution of the VMI initiative across multiple strategic retail customers. The Analyst will report directly to the VMI Supervisor and partner with Demand Planning, Sales, IT and the external customer. This position will work to maximize sales performance and productivity, and requires direct communication with customers, field sales, production/distribution centers, and internal and external transportation organizations. This position will be a member of the Customer Service department.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Ensure effective and efficient VMI performance to customers for assigned products; from forecast through product delivery. Maintain customer target inventory levels through the management of both product quantity and shelf life, ensuring timely communication and product delivery.
2.In alignment with the overall VMI strategy, works closely with VMI Supervisor and Customer Service Manager to execute priorities for VMI delivering on activities that enable Manufacturing and Supply Chain efficiencies.
3.Execute strategic VMI goals for the value-added salad segment and ensure coordinated execution against those goals with multifunctional team members.
4.Work closely with IT departments for VMI systems needs, improvements enhancements, and data validation. Must effectively work with both internal
and external partners in this area.
5.Assist in the development of the customer service VMI organization and build competency in Logility Voyager systems.
6.Support the system integration and transition with external customers to the
VMI platform utilizing PRMS and Logility platforms.
7.Identifies process improvements and best practice enhancement opportunities across a multifunctional team.
8.Assists in coordinating changes to product distribution, including product discontinuations, new product launches, and new store / reset orders. This should also include maintaining an accurate DC store count matrix and communicating to demand planning any significant changes.
9.Develop relationships with buyers and planners at VMI accounts.
10.Provides input into the development of VMI account forecasts, adjusted for various factors including seasonality and other related information.
11.Create and run exception reports for managing forecast, service level, out-of-stocks, etc. (Scorecard performance)
 
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ yrs experience in the food industry, preferably in the produce industry.
- 2+ yrs experience implementing VMI; a working knowledge of VMI terminology, transactions, and technology.
- Proven success in meeting and exceeding customer expectations and building productive customer relationships.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills and problem solving abilities. Ability to generalize based on reasonable samples for given situations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong follow-through and prioritization skills, excellent communication skills, strong initiative and sense of urgency.
- Proficient in Word and Excel, including ability to use macros, look-up tables and file conversions. Working knowledge of PowerPoint helpful.
- Experience using VMI software; Logility Voyager experience a plus.
 
Education:
Associates degree required; BA or BS degree preferred.
