Job Description
The ER Sr. Spec is responsible for providing a wide variety of administrative and employment law/policy related project support and research assistance to the Employee Relations Manager and other departmental members. The ER Sr. Specialist will assist with the complaince investigation process. The person will also develop claims analysis and related reports and assist in the development of programs and policies to mitigate employment litigation risk. S/he will assist with administrative aspects of Company employment litigation and EEOC claims. Conduct research and create analysis for employment policy development. Involves oral and written communication with internal and external counsel and government agencies. The position is responsible for assisting with the development and communication of employee relations related projects. Administrative duties will also be required. This position must remain focused on priority work by completing administrative work, managing projects and addressing strategic work requirements and maintain confidentiality.

The primary responsibilities:

Litigation & EEOC Charges
- Schedule and participate in meetings with internal stakeholders, including internal and external Counsel to collect and maintain data
- Maintain files including charges, position statements and correspondence
- Manage correspondence with government agencies (EEOC, DOL, DHS) and external/opposing counsel
- Coordinate filings, meetings, hearings, depositions as necessary with external Counsel and CBI employees

Investigation Process
- Participate in interviews and maintain related confidential information
- Create claims analysis and develop sophisticated Excel spreadsheets and reports in Powerpoint to assist in the development of strategies to mitigate employee relations concerns and litigation
- Coordinate forensic searches with IT as necessary

Policy Development
- Research and benchmark using databases and materials for employment policy development
- Draft and edit employment policies
- Ongoing policy review. Make recommendations and update content based on research.
- Maintain current policies on Intranet
 
Employee Relations/AAP
- Partner with the HR Manager-Employee Relations in developing, implementing, communicating and managing a comprehensive Affirmative Action Plan
- Assist in creation and monitoring of related action plans

Helpline Claims Processing & Reporting
- Input claims into helpline for those claims that were not initially entered directly into the helpline
- Generate reports on data gathered from helpline entries
- Process helpline requests

Training
- Support administration of Employee Relations courses on company Learning Management System
- Maintain databases
- Complete required reports
- Coordinate with training provider on technical issues
- Coordinate and conduct employee relations related trainings
- Review, update and maintain training materials
 
Administrative Support
- Coordinate the activities of the Employee Relations Manager
- Handle correspondence, phone coverage, file maintenance, travel plans, meeting arrangements, time sheets, budget tracking, invoice processing
- Process unemployment claims, compiling required information when necessary
 

Education:
-BA/BS degree
-Legal degree strongly preferred

Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of total work experience

- Superior analytical skills
- Excellent PC skills: proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint a must
- Strong organization, planning and time management
- Proactive, must be able to meet department goals without significant direction
- Integrity and maturity when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Familiarity with HR concepts, practices and procedures, including employment law
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
