Job Description
Provides extraordinary sales service for our customers. Enhances existing customer relations and develops new customers and territory/markets to meet team objectives. Organizes and implements the short-term daily activities in order to achieve an orderly sales process. Plans and coordinates short term and long term customer demands through effective and efficient collaboration with the Product Leader and Sales Manager. Maintains a team-oriented selling and marketing approach in support of our teams goals and strategies.
Within the Fresh Select group, the Sales Representative will report directly to the Pineapple Sales Manager. Sales responsibilities will be strategic in nature, while improving grower returns through profitability of sales performance.
 
SALES RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1.Manages assigned customer accounts and territories within specific parameters.
2.Utilizes team building and communication skills to create strong department and company-wide internal alignment.
3.Provides professional customer service in a fast paced environment, with a focus on process improvement and contribution to improving teamwork and workflow.
4.Team contribution to openly support: fairness, strong work ethic, personal performance, and accountability along with leadership by example.
5.Contribution towards sales department objectives as defined by management.
6.Expert proficiency in company systems and champion of transaction accuracy.
7.Accounts Receivable/Sales Completion for all assigned customer with a goal of <1% over 30 days.
8.Acts as a conduit for the performance of all Chiquita/Fresh Express products and customer satisfaction.
9.Responsible for handling events and activities in collaboration with sales, marketing, & operations.
10.Constantly strives to develop skill-set necessary to meet department and company strategic goals.
11.Ensures Chiquita?s confidential and proprietary information and materials.
12.Represents Chiquita in an ethical, business?like, and professional manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers.
13.Maintains a professional work area.
14.Accurately distribute information to the company, growers, and customers when requested. Keep product leader and sales manager aware of significant developments with assigned customer base.
15.Must have a complete understanding of PACA regulations.
16.Must be able to accurately gauge national and regional market conditions.
17.Responsible for maximizing returns inherent to the specific commodities he/she sells and/or manages, when applicable.
18.Takes indirect direction and requests from other internal departments as well as communicates with all departments, when applicable.
19.The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they are results oriented and can bring immediate sales volume to the program with existing accounts.
20.Participate as part of the back up for pineapple business account managers.
 
-Supportive Administrative functions: Pre-liquidation process and review of each pool to identify open items and manage issues through resolution. All interface with customs brokers for program development or SOP changes - also other vendors of similar operational impact. Invoice review and approval for specific programs as directed by PM/PL
- Supportive Operational functions: Assist PL/PM in development and implementation of all new programs SOP and other necessary components of new programs. Interface with Operations to communicate relevant information, such as short-term program changes, or special requirements. Generally review and assure full supply chain is completing their necessary portions of programs.
About Chiquita Brands International
Experience:
2-3 years of relevant experience, with prior experience in managing a Product, and/or Sales environment. Knowledge of inventory management, budget, and invoice management processes.
 
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience.
 
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with Kirkey software
- Aptitude for applying technology to improve business productivity and facilitate interpretation and communication of data.
- Ability to read data and draw conclusions.
- Strong understanding of inventory and sales product(s).
- Must have excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
- Proactive self-starter with a track record of results.
- Sense of urgency, hands-on, detail oriented.
- Effective oral and written communications and presentation skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills; able to work effectively across the organization.
- Team player and builder.
- English required; knowledge of Spanish helpful.
- Ability to travel 10%
