Job DescriptionMaintenance Mechanic B is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing and modifying all processing, packaging and facility equipment with optimal quality and efficiency. Maintenance Mechanic B is responsible for ensuring that company equipment is in safe working condition. Additionally, this position will support Process Improvement (PI) projects and participate on safety teams. This position requires adherence to all company policies including, but not limited to, Safety, Food safety, LOTO, housekeeping and Quality/GMP requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalency (such as a technical degree) required; specific technical training to support the Maintenance Skills Summary.
Skills
-Must read/write/ speak English fluently.
-Must work effectively in a team setting
-Must demonstrate a basic ability to cross-train other mechanics as well as production personnel
-Ability to use multi-meter and other measurement instruments
-Ability to troubleshoot PLC controls, such as Allen-Bradley, GE Fanuc
-Ability to work with computer programs, such as Word and Excel
-Ability to demonstrate proficient fabrication and welding skills
-Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience:
2-5 years experience maintaining industrial equipment, preferably in a food processing facility; familiar with preventive or reliability based maintenance; experience working with high speed packaging equipment (Markem Printers, PLC, industrial dryers, Bosch, Hooper, Hayssen, Ilapak, etc), conveyers, pumps, etc.
Essential Job Functions:
-Ability to operate our CMMS system and demonstrate 100% functionality in order to complete work orders as well as log corrective maintenance issues in the system.
-Ability to effectively communicate with production personnel and other mechanics to identify problematic areas of concern; provide and receive feedback and /or support through collection and analysis of information.
-Perform electrical repairs and troubleshooting including: PLC Controls, AC & DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advance circuits and grounding, interpret diagrams, test equipment.
-Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw a valid conclusion.
-The ability to install, fabricate and modify parts and/or equipment using shop equipment such as welding and cutting machines; weld utilizing stick, tig and mig welders.
-Ability to demonstrate proficient mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting skills (logic and control circuits) and repairs; ability to identify and repair problematic issues concerning all equipment and machinery, including finding innovative solutions to recurrent problems
-Demonstrate a general working knowledge of facility equipment including: waste water equipment, compressed air, refrigeration and building safety equipment.
-Must demonstrate an understanding of the company?s objectives including productivity, yields, food safety, quality, customer service and cost goals; daily work activities should support achieving those goals.
-Ability to demonstrate computer and math skills as part of daily activities such as fractions, decimals, percentages and the metric system; efficient with metric system, ratios, and formulas.
-Perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, routine adjustments and follow periodic preventive maintenance schedule.
-Ability to maintain organized documentation, inspection records etc.
-Model professional workplace conduct and adherence to company policies such as the Code of Conduct, attendance, punctuality, efficient and productive work habits, and good personal hygiene.
-Will serve as a resource to other departments in order to resolve mechanical issues and maintain production efficiencies.
-Perform other duties as required or assigned.
