Job Description
Within the Fresh Select Operations group, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the distribution of our fresh produce products from California; ensuring product is shipped correctly based on customer parameters. S/he Interfaces with sales, transportation, brokers, customers, Quality Control personnel, warehouse personnel and service providers for an efficient and effective operation and flow of information.
- Manages the distribution of fresh produce products in California. Interfaces with sales, Quality Control and transportation department to ensure right fruit right customer parameters.
- Is responsible for inventory control to ensure physical inventory is accurate against system inventory.
- Is responsible to manage space allocation for warehouse.
- Coordinates all product arriving into the Del Norte cold storage facility including managing inbound and outbound trucking and customer orders. Effective communication and planning required with customs broker and warehouse providers.
- Hires, trains and manages seasonal employees to perform the required tasks involved with our different and changing programs.
- Is responsible to advise product management, sales and service providers on availability and arrival schedule for all products received from Mexico and Chile to the Del Norte cold storage facility.
- Responsible to document and notify appropriate parties for any possible claims against service provider pertaining to temp and handling.
- Responsible for notifying necessary Government agencies such as USDA, for needed inspections and documentation for marketing order and failed to grade inspections.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
1-3 years of port operations or warehouse management experience.

Education:
2 or 4 year degree or equivalent experience
 
Skills:
The successful candidate will possess the following:

- Knowledge of warehousing systems such as AS400 system
- Requires strong interpersonal skills
- High degree of stress tolerance
- Ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Ability to analyze and establish processes for improved department performance,
- Strong trouble shooting skills
- Ability to lead people and manage processes
- Bilingual, English/Spanish
