Job Description
Responsible for general accounting duties including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of GL accounts, and other functions in support of the monthly accounting close and financial statement preparation. Basic to intermediate level accounting and financial record keeping in computerized accounting systems, including AP, PO, GL, and Inventory modules. Analyzes costs, budgetary variances, and Balance Sheet trend activity. Provides management with specialized reports to support business decision-making. Other special projects to support the corporate controllers department and senior management on an ad hoc basis. Position will focus on financial reporting but will also interact and provide support to business units, analysts, and other internal customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Responsible for timely accurate month-end accounting close and associated tasks. Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, reviews reserves and accruals, and other general ledger accounting functions. Identifies any potential accounting issues or problems to bring to the attention of supervisor.
-Develops good working knowledge of accounting systems and assists with suggestions to improve or streamline areas.
-Responsible for preparation of monthly balance sheet trend analysis
-Assists in SOX testing of various control areas as well as updating and reviewing of SOX narratives as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
B.S. in Accounting or Finance required. If candidate holds a Finance degree, 1 full year of Intermediate Accounting coursework or equivalent is required. Position requires 0-3 years of accounting experience.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
Strong understanding of intermediate accounting concepts and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Must be team-oriented, a self starter, and have the ability to plan, organize, and execute in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to interact with operations management and to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
