Job DescriptionThe QA Supervisor is responsible for assuring that all quality and food safety aspects of fruit and vegetable production are achieved and regulatory, national and customer requirements are adhered to during operational hours. S/he will instill a culture of continuous improvement and drive quality improvements throughout the facility; demonstrate the key leadership skills for success and lead the QA and operations team members to achieve the highest standards of GMP, food safety and quality improvement; communicate effectively daily quality and food safety requirements of the operation.
Main focus of this position is Quality / Food Safety which includes the following:
-Assure all food safety requirements are achieved consistently at all levels of the operation.
-Directly supervise QA technicians and work closely with production to consistently achieve national and customer quality specifications.
-Effectively communicate to management quality and food safety requirements of the operation.
-Shelf life Support the shelf life requirements and report data accurately.
-Secure samples daily and store at 40F Ensure that data is reported correctly and timely to national group.
-Temperature monitoring.
-Ensure that the packed out fruit is <40F target 38F, Personal Hygiene and Handling practices Ensure compliance of personal hygiene and GMP practices for fruit handling Monitor, train and develop team members on critical aspects of fruit processing to assure shelf life and food safety standards are achieved.
-Pre-operational Monitoring and Environmental Swab.
-Verify Sanitation efforts through accurate pre-operational monitoring and Environmental Swab program.
-Direct Supervision of QA Assistants, and QA Technicians on third shift.
-Responsible in day to day QA functions, including but not limited to the following: Updating customer product specification changes and training of QA technicians. Scale and thermometer calibration per schedule. Perform calibration process to comply with customer requirements. GMP and HACCP implementation and training. QA technicians schedules and review of QA techs time sheet and submit necessary documents to HR on a timely manner. Making sure that QA technicians have supplies and tools needed to do their daily task. Maintains effective record keeping and documentation related to product quality and quality checks. QA test results verification. Conflict resolutions and makes recommendation for appropriate corrective/disciplinary actions. Assist in maintaining the shelf life database and Freshness Compliance implementation and reporting. Comply with the spec deviation process including HOLD procedures and RPQC requirements. Assist in Plant Audit preparation. Assist in the development of policies and procedures to insure that production process meets Food Safety guidelines. Participate in other company?s process improvements initiative. Conduct safety training and participate in other safety training initiatives. Maintains database for retrieval of reports. Identify training needs for QA Technicians and Raw Product Technician and follow-up with the necessary recommendation. Perform all other tasks as assigned by management.
Responsible for reviewing daily punch detail KRONOS reports.
Requirements:
BS degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology or Agricultural Science or 2-3 years of Quality Assurance experience in Food Manufacturing.
