Job DescriptionThe Expert Woven Sample Maker will be responsible for assembly of entire garments utilizing pattern and tech package direction. The Expert Woven Sample Maker will work in partnership with the Pattern maker and Design team to assemble garments from all woven categories at the quality level needed to maintain the St. John image. The Expert Woven Sample Maker will also perform a variety of advanced sewing operations when putting together a St. John garment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Set bias binding and leather binding
· Sew top stitching
· Set all pockets with a top stitch and an inside stitch
· Close zipper including difficult trims/piping
· Sew bound buttonholes and welt pockets
· Set pockets flap with zigzag machine
· Set and close difficult collars
· Set separating zippers
· Set and close cuffs and bias
· Read and understand Specs and Operation Sheets (Specs are complete packages of style and Operation Sheets are step by step instructions of style)
· Able to thread and operate all special sewing machines (Single Needle, Merrow, Zigzag, Cover Stitch and Edge Cutter)
· Follow instructions of Line Leader, Supervisor or Department Lead

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· 15+ years of Woven garment sewing experience required
· Equivalent work experience
· Certification, Training or relevant course work
· Expert knowledge of woven fabrications
· Ability to read, write and speak Basic English; Bi-lingual skills highly desired
